Festival season in Chicago is officially underway. Nearly every weekend from now until Labor Day you’ll be able to catch some great music while day drinking on a public thoroughfare. Do-Division kicked off last night with performances from BBU, JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound and Black Belles. The rest of the weekend is equally as good with tremendous local acts (Chris Connelly, White Mystery, Mannequin Men, In Tall Buildings, Gypsyblood) mixed with great national acts (Craig Finn from the Hold Steady, The Soft Pack, The Besnard Lakes, The Antlers). With the rain finally gone and the weather forecast calling for warmer temperatures and sun most of the day, Do-Division is absolutely the best entertainment option for the weekend. Why spend 35 dollars for one act when you can spend 5 to see a bunch? See you there.

And if seeing great live music isn’t your thing, you can also drink beer out of a boot at Maifest in Lincoln Square.
